Awards: Rosemary Sullivan named first Canadian to win Plutarch Award for Biography

Rosemary SullivanToronto-based author Rosemary Sullivan is the first Canadian to win the American Plutarch Award for Biography, for Stalin’s Daughter: The Extraordinary and Tumultuous Life of Svetlana Alliluyeva (HarperCollins Canada).

Sullivan was selected from a list of 10 nominees by a committee of distinguished biographers. She received her prize at the annual BIO Conference in Richmond, Virginia, which took place June 3–5. Stalin’s Daughter has already won the Hilary Weston Writers’ Trust Prize, RBC Taylor Prize, and British Columbia’s National Award for Canadian Non-Fiction.
